Summary of Contents:
Level C Math begins with a review of previously learned concepts such as addition
and subtraction facts as well as telling time. It will not rush your child or assume that
he/she remembers everything from 2nd grade and will take the time to strengthen the
foundation before moving on. It will cement previous concepts and then gradually work the
new ones in.
Each chapter lists it's objectives at the beginning as well as any needed materials
throughout the lesson. This is a great help in preparation and takes a lot of the tedious
work out of it for the teacher! And you can purchase all needed materials here at Home
School Products!!!
The lesson then details page-by-page directions for you on how to introduce the lesson to
your child as well as give you extended activity suggestions to help the concepts
"gel" better.

The MENTAL MATH problems require students to use cumulative problem solving skills without
the help of paper and pencil.
The unique SKILL REVIEW section in each lesson is crucial to making sure that your child
continues practice in each concept learned. Never is a new concept drilled and then
dropped as your child is rushed ahead!
Optional ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES will help further strengthen your child's understanding of
mathematics. (Example pg. 90: "Have your child figure up exactly how old they are
today in years, months and days." This will help them understand the way our calendar
breaks down)
There is also a convenient list of COMMON ERRORS listed on pages T33-T46. This list
describes specific errors that that frequently occur in the learning of the skills and
content of 3rd grade mathematics. In the CORRECTING COMMON ERROR features found in every
lesson throughout the teacher's edition these errors are further explored and suggestions
are made for their remediation.
Optional ALTERNATE CHAPTER TESTS are given at the back of each book for further practice
and variation.
