two book Phonics in Context series helps children ages 5 to 8 years develop
phonics skills as they read original and often humorous passages and answer questions
about the story. Each story focuses on a specific sound. This workbook includes a carefully developed sequence
of activities to teach and reinforce vowel blends and more complex vowel/consonant
combinations. The comprehension stories which follow enable the students to identify the
sounds in context. The sounds covered range from 'ee', 'ar', 'oa' and 'oo' plus more
in Early Phonics in Context, to 'aw', 'oi', 'ear' and 'tion' plus more in Phonics
in Context.
In each book, each phonics sound is
introduced in context, allowing students to identify the specific sound within text. Thus,
students will learn to process automatically each phonic sound for pronunciation and
meaning, thereby enhancing their learning and spelling skills. Early Phonics in
