| The Switched On Schoolhouse Spanish 2 CD
ROM is designed to follow the completion of Spanish 1 and
continue instruction for students from 8th to 12th grade. Students completing Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 should reach the same level of
proficiency in two years of study (after completing Spanish 1 and 2) that a college
student should attain after two semesters of Spanish study. This course is designed to be
the equivalent of the second semester of college-level Spanish (SPANISH-102). Switched On Schoolhouse Spanish 2 provides an
interactive, audio-visual way to learn introductory Spanish at the junior high and high
school level. This course includes lessons for one complete school year of Spanish 2
instruction. All course content including evaluation, testing, and scoring are done
totally on the computer.
This course establishes appreciation of
Spanish as well as basic confidence and skill in thinking and speaking the Spanish
language. After completing this course, students will be able to read, write, and
listen to more complex sentence structures that what was achieved in Spanish 1. Students learn vocabulary and basic word order
through typical Spanish conversations in various settings, such as the home, school, and
town. Course materials emphasize reading comprehension and writing, while
complementary audiocassette tapes help students master verbal language skills. |
