| The Teacher's Edition of
the Lab Manual includes all of the 213 pages from the Student Lab Manual, plus an
additional 88 pages of teacher notes and suggestions. The Teacher Edition Lab Manual provides the same
content as the Student Lab Manual but with teacher notes included in the margins of each
page, directly adjacent to the paragraph to which the note applies. The Teacher Edition
also provides answers to questions asked in each lab exercise, plus explanations to give
students a better understanding of why the answer makes sense. In this manual, there are about forty main
exercises. Some exercises are designed to take more than one class day to complete, while
others take only a few minutes.
The Lab exercises provides hands-on
demonstrations to reinforce biological concepts presented in the text. The laboratory
exercises in this book are designed to go along with the student text and provide a
framework in which students can increase their understanding by becoming personally
acquainted with various biological processes and organisms. The Lab Manual provides
students with exercises to help them study without having to memorize cold facts.
Some lab equipment is needed to complete
the Lab assignments. Most of these items are available in the Biology Specimen Dissection Kit, which is a
separate purchase. Items required include scissors, forceps, dropping pipette, scalpel,
probe, ruler, and culture dish. Note: Not all of the items are included with the kit. |
